The Franklin Method® Fellowship

Welcome to the Franklin Method® Fellowship! This is a podcast hosted by physical therapists Solange Ross and Debora Chasse. In this podcast we share our passion for the Franklin Method® and how we use it in daily life, all forms of exercise, and integrate it into our physical therapy practices. You will find movement practices to help you connect to your body to improve the way you move and feel. In the Franklin Method® we use imagery to improve the ability to be present in our body, release tension and become more efficient in our movement. This helps improve balance, flexibility, strength, coordination, posture, and alignment. All of the exercises are functional and look at everyday movements such as walking, bending, breathing, reaching, carrying, and posture to name a few. The exercises are appropriate for all fitness levels. If you are just beginning an exercise program, make sure to consult with your doctor. The practices in this podcast are not intended to be medical advice.

Jump Pee, Leak Pee: Is “tighter + stronger” the single most effective approach to optimize pelvic function?

Jump Pee, Leak Pee: Is “tighter + stronger” the single most effective approach to optimize pelvic function?

The pelvis and its inextricable relationship with the lower back, hips and pelvic organs is the core of our movement experience – it is integral to all of our body’s movement, balance and posture.

It is this movement dynamic that creates the natural support for a lifelong experience of leak proof walking, running, jumping + living.

In this 4 class series you will:

  • become aware of the modern day habits + patterns that distort the optimal functioning of your pelvis and increase the risks of leakage issues, pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence.

  • learn techniques to change these habit and patterns in a way that can be immediately applied to your everyday life

  • learn the 3 main movements potentials of the hips and pelvis necessary to create optimal pelvis organ support and continence at every age

  • learn why kegels may not be the single best exercise to reverse these symptoms + even how they can lead to worsening of these symptoms
