Complete Core FAQs

Who is the class appropriate for?

The class is appropriate for women at all stages of life. Whether you are looking to improve your posture, restore your core after you have a baby, stay strong to keep up with an active toddler, or keep your core strong to prevent pelvic and orthopedic issues as you age. The class works on your foundation which is important for all women.

This is a class where no one is left behind and you will be appropriately challenged for your individual fitness level. You will receive individual corrections and technique to help you get the maximum benefit out of the exercises.

When can I start taking a class?

You must have clearance from your doctor or midwife at the 6 week follow up. It is very important to wait the full 6 weeks before returning to exercise. This allows the uterus, pelvic floor muscles, and everything internal time to heal. If you have a C-section the clearance is given around 12 weeks.

Can I take the class if I’m pregnant?

Yes, the class targets all of the important postural muscles that need to be strong for pregnancy. Exercises are modified appropriately for each trimester.

What are the benefits of taking the class?

The work you do in class is transferable to your daily life. It will teach you to practice correct breathing to release tension, improve your postural awareness as you go about your daily activities, and increase your performance in all other forms of exercise.

How does this class fit with my other workouts such as spin class, HIIT, Yoga, Pilates?

Complete Core is the foundation for your body.  Through a mixture of Yoga, Pilates, and Physical Therapy based exercises the class targets all the postural muscles. The class is an ongoing practice. The stronger you get and more connected to your core muscles, you can work on a deeper level.

The exercises don’t give you that deep soreness from overworking the body. By focusing on correct breathing and functional movement (the way the body was designed to move) the exercises feel good. They can feel challenging at the time but they leave you energized.

How is this class different from other “Core” classes?

The class is unique that it blends different disciplines of exercise. The class includes very targeted work that prepares the body for more active, dynamic movement included in the class. There is individual instruction and technique in every class. Solange has a sense of everyone’s ability and restrictions. You feel as if the workout was tailored for you even though you are in a group experience.
